Schubert: Trout Quintet
8th March 2008
Although I am familar with the Trout Quintet, I had not prevoiusly heard The Notturno for trio. This proved to be delighful and beautifully played.. Whilst listening to the Trout, views of the wine village of Grinzing were shown with its extensive area under wine cultivation. This is followed by views of the spa town of Baden and then Gumpoldskirchen, both of which are also famous for wine. Then views of Steyr and its railway. The trio is accompanied by pictures of Gmunden on lake Traunsee with its Schubert association .Worth a look unless you would sooner see pictures of the players with sweat on their brows.
