If you are a fan of the Scooby Doo cartoons on TV, you will love seeing the characters come to life with real people and an animated Scooby Doo, who is very cute and funny. I think young and old alike will find it entertaining.
As a Scooby fan I ignored this movie for a long time due to the critical mauling it received on it's release. When I finally caught it on Sky it baffled me as to where all the hate came from.
As far as I'm concerned the cast was spot on (especially Matthew Lillard), the jokes were great and the ending was divine. It was just self aware enough to avoid being smug (and to give adult fans something to enjoy) while being a fun ride for the kids.
I'm 28 and I was crying with laughter, especially at the chemistry between Scooby and Shaggy. I've seen it twice now and the sequel (which isn't as good but still fun). Ignore the critics and see it for yourself.
For me I would have preferred that the storyline followed the old tried and tested formula of the cartoons. Yet the contrived way they break up onl to be brought back togther agian is quite neat.
Rowan Atkinson is in fine form and the gang do their best to bring the characters to 'life'. The animation of Scoob himself is really good, also
The gags as they are are also very good, whether they be the site gags or via the dialogue. (The sight of Scoob dressed is an old aunt is just laugh out loud hilarious!)
Matthew Lillard steals the show with his sound-a-like take on Shaggy. He plays really well against empty space where Scooby would later be inserted.
All in all not too bad at all. The denouement is brilliant for all us older Scooby fans.

Worth watching just to hear the voices of Scooby and Shaggy (got to be the best!). If you liked the cartoon, then you?ll enjoy this. Don?t expect to be amazed, it isn?t about the plot, huge sets, or story line really. It?s just entertainment. Treat it as that, and you?ll enjoy it.

I gave it one star, because there is no facility for no stars. Get the cartoon version instead.
I saw it in the pictures and i just had to see it again it is really funny and i really advise you to get it its worth it.
My 3 year old loves this film
My daughter aged 3 loved the film. I was semi surprised (as i was expecting the worst), film was not too bad.Although aimed at a younger generation some aspects of the film showed maturity. Roll on captain caveman!!!
Scooby-Doo is mercifully short - at only 83 minutes - which is probably the best thing that can be said about it.
