    [Highly rated reviewer]

The original scream was by far the best of the trilogy, it has quite a good storyline, with plenty of outrageous teen murders, and quite a good twist at the end, they do stick to the usual horror film formula, but they tell you that during the film, Courtney Cox and Neve Campbell are both good to watch and nice to see.

    Well worth seeing.

Great film. I'm not a horror/gore fan but I do like a good thriller. This ticks a lot of the boxes. Was nice nostalgia trip too.

  • Okay modern slasher.

Okay slasher for the younger generation - for me, it is far too pretentious and tries just a little too hard to be clever and 'hip' ...It is slick and well-made but I am an 80's boy and prefer the real thing!!!

  • Is it horror, spoof, comedy, thriller? watch and see

Good performances and keeps you guessing throughout. It has some obvious and intentional moments which has the effect of adding some humour to an otherwise gory thriller. It holds your attention and has some nice twists even though at moments you feel you are in a spoof movie and just when you think you are it swings back to serious and dramatic. I really enjoyed it and well the watch

  • it made the rules.. then it broke everyone

The best slasher movie of the 90s. It produced three more great instalments. Wes Craven(Serpent and the rainbow,A nightmeare on elm street) is known by fans of his work to always bring something fresh and new he renewed the genre in 1972 with the brutal Last house on the left, then he gave us nightmeares with Freddyin 1984 then he made a new age giallo( a bunch of old murder thriller slash movies from Italy in the fashion of Dario Argento)film and called it scream. This is a movie full of suspicion where simplicity is its complexity and everyone is a suspect. Even Henry Winkler(the fonz) The cast is amazing From Neve Campbell(Wild things, three to tango) as the lead, she is a scream. To Skeet Ulrich(Newton boys, the craft) Excellent in this film. To Matthew Lilard(Dead mans curve, shes all that) etc. This is the best horror black comedy since An american werewolf in london. If you always wonder the rules of a horror movie then this is your guide. Then watch it break everyone. Top class.
