About time!!
By Stephen Daniels from Swindon, England , 25 May 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
I have always been a huge friends fan! and since the end a need to fill the void was met as i began to watch Scrubs. Now i know what you are thinking... Scrubs has been around for ages! and i know that but i never watched it until about 6 months ago! and now i am hooked it is the funniest thing i have ever watched! mixing ally mcbeal style outrageousness (incidentally i can't stand ally mcbeal, but i see what it was trying to do!) and friends 'gag a second' script. This series is a must buy if you enjoy laughing! and let's face it.. who doesn't!?- Was this review helpful to you?

Worth the effort, even if it seems bizarre initially.
By scooter91170 (2 reviews) , 18 Jul 2011Ok, I'll admit it took me a few attempts to get into Scrubs. I think because I'd never caught it from it from the beginning it just seemed strange. JD's daydreaming and voice overs, etc, just seemed like someone tripping.
Got the discs and watched them sequentially and it is hilariously funny. The characters are likeable and the jokes are brilliant.
JD's friendship with Turk always seems natural and not forced and provide a lot of the humour.
Unlike most comedies, however, there is not always a happy ending. It's a hospital. The patients die, the doctors make mistakes, kinda like real life, but it's how they deal with it that helps build the show.
Apparently this show was actually one of the most popular with US Doctors as it was closer to real life than anything else on TV, including ER. Two of the main characters are based on friends of the main writer/creator and they are Hospital Doctors, so he gets ideas off them.
If you liked Spin City then this should also appeal to you. Also watch out for cameos, throughout the seasons (my own favourite was the St Elsewhere one)- Was this review helpful to you?

What's not to like?

I love, love, love Scrubs and had never previously seen the first series. So of course I had to rent it.
It's so clever on so many levels. The characters, the situations, everything. For British viewers, the nearest we have to Scrubs is Green Wing (another series I love, and similarly clever).- Was this review helpful to you?

Brillant Televison
By a customer from Leeds , 30 Oct 2010Scrubs is amazing. Its not just a random comedy but it develops from series 1. I think series 1 is a must watch to figure out where all the relationships come from! Must watch!- Was this review helpful to you?

Hmmm dissapointed
By a customer from Hull , 01 Oct 2010I rented this because it was recommended by a friend. I just love watching comedy but I watched the first episode and didnt laugh once. Its 'ok' but i'm more into British comedy. I thought i'd give it a go but it just didnt do it for me. I gave episode 2 and 3 a go but nothing changed my opinion so I cancelled my order for the rest of the collection. Give me Shameless any day! :0)- Was this review helpful to you?
