All 24 episodes of the first season of the popular futuristic 1990s sci-fi drama series about the crew of a submarine. In the near future, having drawn upon most known sources of natural resource on earth, apart from those under the oceans, mankind must put on its scuba gear and search. A league of nations has agreed to work together to research what, exactly, can be plundered from the ocean floor and sends teams out to investigate. However, they are under steady attack from rogue nations who never signed the pact and must be protected. Roy Scheider stars as Nathan Bridger, captain of the hi-tech Seaquest submarine, sent to do just that, with Stephanie Beacham as Kristin Westphalen, the sub's doctor. Don't miss it because it's only an old series!

It's such a pity that this series seems never to be re-broadcast. The stories are good, there is plenty of action, and the acting is excellent - particularly from Roy Scheider and the marvelous Jonathan Brandis. Heartily recommended

enjoyable 90's sci-fi

I remember this on TV in the 90's and enjoyed the 1st series. As i recall the second series went down hill, but did enjoy this.

More likely should be called seaquest - bascially it is trying to be star trek under water without the sci-fi element. Story lines are boring and Roy Schneider looks embarrassed most of the time. What a shame.

This brings back memories...

I remember watching this show back when it first came out in 1993, and it is just as good now as it was then. It was a shame they ripped up the format and started again for season 2, and then again for season 3, as this was the best season and I really enjoyed watching it, sixteen years on!

If you remember this, get it. If you don't, try it anyway - essentially, Star Trek of the sea!
