Seaquest DSV - Season 1

Set in the year 2018, this futuristic sci-fi series revolves around mankind's attempts to colonise the earth's waters. As various underwater colonies are set up, conflict arises between different communities fighting for common resources. Assigned the task of keeping the peace by the United Earth Oceans (UEO), a submarine known as SeaQuest DSV is sent underwater for the purpose of preventing war. The ship's diverse team includes Captain Nathan Bridger (Roy Scheider), teenager Lucas (Jonathan Brandis), and even a genius dolphin. The Emmy Award-winning show's debut series is presented here. SEAQUEST DSV - SERIES ONE features guest stars Seth Green, Kent McCord, Kellie Martin, Charlton Heston, and William Shatner.

    Not quite how I remembered

    I suppose our egeneration has been spoiled by the likes of Stargate SG-1 and Atlantis and the like. We now have witty comebacks, interesting characters with complex relationships and vaguely believeable plotlines. Sadly SeaQuest has very little of this. I was an avid fan at the age of twelve, but now it seems a little too wafer thin. I guess it brought the sci-fi genre forward a step or two, but unless you're looking for a history lesson in the development of sci-fi stick to the modern stuff!
