Not bad and always worth seeing James Mason.
By roncoach (369 reviews) from suffolk , 27 Jan 2013[Highly rated reviewer]
Worth watching any James Mason film, either in his early British period or in his later Hollywood films. This early example actually casts him as the support star to the rarely-seen and very bland Hugh Williams ( who ?---exactly). Mason's French accent leaves a bit to be desired but it's at least better than merely using an English accent to play a Frenchman:) There are a host of well-known British supporting actors and the whole film works quite well. A reasonable plot, good sets ( if you like to see studio forests ) and quite watchable throughout. No classic so don't expect too much , but worth seeing if you like these very British WWII espionage films----or the excellent James Mason.- Was this review helpful to you?

(3)reasonable war caper
By itstinks (681 reviews) from North of Reading , 30 Mar 2013A small team go into an occupied french town to gather information. They infiltrate the German head office, everybody speaks in English pretending it's German and the Brits even keep their middle class accents. Their escapades and a few tense moments make it a pleasant watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

Secret Mission not very thrilling
By jenny1950 (1 review) from Shrewsbury , 21 Aug 2009It was a very slow moving film lacking the authentic atmosphere of the story. I found hardly any drama or tension. The music being played at supposed drama was that of a comedy which did not gel to this scene. The film was grossly disappointing. I did not find a shred of interest in the film. I did not see the last 30 minutes of the film because I got so bored.- Was this review helpful to you?
