Great feel good film!
By RainbowJoBirko (123 reviews) from Derbyshire, England , 23 Nov 2010[Highly rated reviewer]
Great film, with an invite to a preview of the film I was unsure what to expect, all I knew was it was a Disney film, based on true events, starring a horse.
It was exactly that but was so much more, the awe inspiring story of an unlikely competitor succeeding, not only succeeding but setting a yet to be broken record.
With a fabulous all star cast ( was shocked to see Nelsan Ellis from True Blood in a Disney Flick), a great soundtrack and some great camera angles, I really enjoyed this. It is not everyone's cup of tea but if you like a feel good film then give it a go!- Was this review helpful to you?

(52)You couldn't make it up
By bedbug (4 reviews) , 18 May 2013Lovely film of the extraordinary, true story of big red wonder horse Secretariat. Diane Lane is great as Penny Chenery Tweedy, who takes over her ailing father's racing stable and puts her faith in the colt even before he's born. A terrific supporting cast, headed by John Malkovich as her eccentric trainer and Margo Martindale as her father's redoubtable secretary, make this a gripping, tear-jerking feel-good film to remember.- Was this review helpful to you?

Secretariat - a splendid true story
By MelissaMarabamma (218 reviews) from South Coast UK , 22 Jan 2013True story that is extraordinary and well worth hearing about. The female star lead shows true grit and determination in the face of adversity ...and triumphs over vociferous rivals. Suffers a little on pace - the Director could do a better cut. But I still recommend it.- Was this review helpful to you?
