Jokey but uninteresting horror that attempts some feeble humour at the expense of the film industry and actresses willing to take the casting couch route to stardom.
Franchise fatigue sets in big-time with this sequel to Bride of Chucky. This unsuccessful stab at the postmodern... read more on Time Out
this film is good, lots of blood and gore, and also amusing in places, chucky doesn't like having a son who's a goody goody, but things change, for all chucky lovers this film will not dissapoint.
A good film on the whole, which gets better as it goes on, and with a good last 20-minutes or so. Jennifer Tilly allows the script to have alot of digs at her, and she looks great for nearly 50! The film has very good special effects again, and the acting throughout by all the cast is pretty good (given that the film has two singers in the cast, they do a good job in the roles they are given). Like all the other Childs Play movies it is somewhat short at around 80-minutes, but again is still entertaining for the duration. The new doll/character(Glen/Glenda) at times seems to get in the way, but by the end of the movie he seems to be a worthy addition to the film. If you liked Bride of Chucky then you should also find enjoyment in this film as well.
There are some good extras, including an interesting 18-minute 'Conceiving The Seed Of Chucky' featurette(which amongst other things shows how complex the three dolls are), a 'Family Hell-iday Slideshow' featurette, a 'FuZion Up Close With The Seed of Chucky Stars' featurette, an audio commentary with Don Mancini(writer/director) and Jennifer Tilly, Jennifer Tilly's Diary, Cast and Filmakers Biographies, and trailers.
Get the Region 1 DVD is you can, as it is uncut and has more extras than the Region 2 DVD!
With Saw V and Midnight Meat Train both currently thrilling cinema goers across the country, we started reminiscing about the best horror movie taglines ever. A tagline, as you probably know, is the one-liner that appears on an ad, a poster or a commercial that sums up the appeal of a movie. Once upon a time yours truly was involved in a film society and we dabbled in this art ourselves. I recall coming up with a tagline for James Whale’s black and white classic Bride of Frankenstein ( Read more
