Much as I love Seinfeld its pretty obvious they're struggling for ideas in this series.
Overall series 9 lacks the wit of earlier ones. The jokes have become wacky and farcical, more and more suspension of disbelief is required and the storylines have become frustratingly contrived (even for a comedy).
Though there are still some great moments, its difficult to see how any serious Seinfeld fan could find this series gratifying. Maybe its worth a watch if you're craving Seinfeld and have watched all the other episodes ad infinitum, but in any other situation I'd say just go for an earlier series - there's no comparison.
Seinfeld never recovered from the departure of Larry David after season 7. There is absolutely no doubt about that! Saying that, apart from the abysmal, laughless finale, season 9, was pretty good and let's be fair pretty good for Seinfeld still knocks the spots of virtually everything else television has to offer now or yesteryear! The series of Seinfeld as a whole was sheer genuis.
