Nowhere as good as Talledega Nights!
By a customer from SW London , 11 Mar 2008[Highly rated reviewer]
My favourite Farrell flick is undoubtedly 'Talledega Night' followed by 'Blades of Glory'. This film is by far the worst of Farrell. Not very funny, silly flaky plotline and Farrell just didn't have the same magic he had in his others. This was a waste of time for me, and I'm sure that fans will agree, or not....apparently it grossed alot of money in the Box Office in the States!- Was this review helpful to you?

By orangeboy (56 reviews) from Cardiff , 09 Sep 2012I get the feeling that after Anchorman, Will Ferrell thought he was on to a winning formula. All he has to do is pick a sport or part of US culture and spoof it. Unfortunately since Anchorman, every subsequent Ferrell comedy film has failed to match the one before it and this is no exception. This film feels like it has been rushed into being made and with a script that was deemed adequate enough to get away with.
I doubt Will Ferrell actually believes he can keep his fans happy by serving up such formulaic and repetitive nonsense. Films like 'Stranger Than Fiction' and 'Everything Must Go' show that he can do more then the inane and juvenile. But something tells me that Talladega Nights, Blades of Glory etc will make much more money. Go figure.
Anyway, whether you care for basketball or not, this film relies too much on cheap laughs whether crude one liners or clumsy visual gags. It doesn't work. Nice try but should have tried harder.- Was this review helpful to you?

Mediocre Film
By a customer , 05 Jun 2012This is a very typical Will Farrell film but its not one of his best, it just is'nt as funny as many of the other films he has done.
If your a Farrell fan then you will enjoy this but probably not as much as his other films.- Was this review helpful to you?

Funny stuff from Ferrell
By JP72 (6 reviews) from Slough , 08 May 2012This is typical Will Ferrell. If you like typical Will Ferrel then this is for you. Full of daft humour, the token catchy song and the timeless zero to hero theme!
Jackie Moon I salute you!- Was this review helpful to you?

Pitiful. Don't Bother
By a customer , 20 Apr 2012I wish they hadn't made it and I wish I hadn't watched it. This film is not funny or interesting. I kind of saw all of it but the last part I barely paid attention because it is that poor.- Was this review helpful to you?

Some funny moments...
By a customer from Herts , 12 Feb 2012Some very good moments, fun and dumb with real 1970's fashion disco edge.
Pretty much by the book zany antics, some fall a bit flat, but some are pretty good.
Some great basketball moments.. and a real team feel good factor, where you end up cheering for the underdog!
(or bear)
Will Ferrel in his element....
(just ignore the dumb moments inbetween) .....- Was this review helpful to you?
