Nowhere as good as Talledega Nights!

My favourite Farrell flick is undoubtedly 'Talledega Night' followed by 'Blades of Glory'. This film is by far the worst of Farrell. Not very funny, silly flaky plotline and Farrell just didn't have the same magic he had in his others. This was a waste of time for me, and I'm sure that fans will agree, or not....apparently it grossed alot of money in the Box Office in the States!

    Stupidly fuuny

Will Ferrell at his most ridiculous.

Whilst not in the same league as anchorman, this film is very funny. Simple script, simple gags and Will Ferrell - perfect film to watch when hung over on a Sunday afternoon.

Brace yourself for the disturbing camera angles towards to end of the film - nobdy wants to see Will Ferrell from that angle!

Not bad - but could have been so much better!

Those expecting a cross between Blades of Glory, Talladega Nights and Anchorman will be disappointed. Will Ferrell plays Jackie Moon, the coach of not-very-good basketball team called 'The Tropics'. However, Moon is a much more restrained character than any character played by Ferrell in his previous films. Gone is the randomness of Anchorman's Ron Burgundy, the excessiveness of Blades of Glory's Chazz Michael Michaels or the stupidity of Talladega Nights' Ricky Bobby. Jackie Moon is just pretty average with only a few 'laugh-out-loud' moments in the film. When Will Ferrell is on his game, he is great. Unfortunately, he's not on his game in 'Semi-Pro'.

    Semi-Pro, Wholly disappointing.

The script is lacking in humour. It's predictable, badly written and generally pretty tedious.

Give this one a miss and rent Old School again...

    Ferrell's worst film to date...

I like a lot of what Will Ferrell does but this film is his absolute worst. Poor characters, poor jokes and poor plotline make this a miss. It's humour is akward - stuff you know is being played for jokes falls flat. I watched this with my wife and we knew after 15minutes that it was a turkey. She went off to bed and I tried to stay down and watch it to the end - I only managed an hour. There was nothing of any substance to keep from my bed any longer. Unless you're a real fan and have to watch all his output I'd suggest you should avoid this!

    Semi-funny

This is no 'Anchorman', nor indeed a 'Blades of Glory', but instead Ferrell doing his silly sportsman schtick only this time in the basketball arena. And because it's set in the 70s, he gets to run around in an Afro. Less manic than some of his previous comedies, it at least takes full advantage of its more adult rating to let rip with some inventive language and an admittedly funny subplot involving a bear.

    Crappy crappy crap crap.

This film was bad, not funny, not interesting and just not very good. There was one, maybe two laugh out loud moments but that was it. In fact the trailer is actually better than the finished film so just watch that instead or just wait for Anchorman 2.

    Will, Will, Will......

Come on mate you most have more up your sleeve than this!!

Ok if you're a fan of Farrell you'll like this, if you think most of his films are ok you're probably not going to enjoy this at all as his films seem to be merging into one film.

the Bear wrestling scene is very dissappointing :0( wanted it to be so much better but it fell flat on it's face.

Sorry muckers, but this one is a big thumbs down - heres fingers crossed for the next one lol
