Having seen the first DVD I was already familiar with the concept of Lain. It?s basically a visually pretty Anime with dark themes of death and the relationship between people and Technology. But the storyline (which there is little of) and images are annoyingly repetitive and this makes for a pretty boring Anime. The characters are not bad but the pretentiousness it really gets in the way of what could possibly be quite good character development. Worth seeing the first not much point in renting the second because you will have already seen all there is to offer.
