Four down-on-their-luck African-American women from Los Angeles — resentful of the “system” — band together to pull off a string of bank robberies to improve their lives, though their crime spree leads to as many problems as it solves. The subplots are numerous, resulting in romance, serious statements about ghetto life and thrilling bullet-strewn action scenes being crammed in together, yet they still manage to grab the attention. Jada Pinkett, now Mrs Will Smith, does well in the lead, but it's the commanding Queen Latifah who has the acting ability and personality to stand out, though Blair Underwood gives a nice supporting performance. Ice Cube, Busta Rhymes and the Geto Boys feature on the thumping soundtrack.

    Awesome

This is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Although the plot is somewhat predictable, it is still hugely entertaining. It is funny as well as a thriller and will have you on the edge of your seat! Some really sad moments also stand out. This is a classic.

The last time i saw this film was on tv sometime ago and as i missed half of it it was a treat to see it again. As the film focus on four black women from the hood in LA you see how tough life can be for them and with only one way out is to rob a bank, but not just one. The acting from the likes of Jade Pinkett and Queen Latifah leave you wanting more. In parts of the film is fun but in other quite sad as four friends loose one another. This film is not like other films what focus on black women who steel money, take drugs.etc. This film is at its best.
