Randolph Scott and Budd Boetcher(?) made about 7 films. This film is the only one I had never seen either in the cinema or replayed (as many of the 7 are) regularly on TV. Scott is his usual quiet reliable gentleman with a ruthless streak. Lee Marvin has a more subtle role as a villain rather different from those he played at this time. The story is rather more developed than some of the spare westerns made by Scott/Boetcher all the characters are unique. The film looks great having been restored recently. This is a must for western fans.
