[Highly rated reviewer]I saw this when it appeared on TV and was totally absorbed by it. In fact, I still can remember some parts vividly. It's a excellent, gritty portrayal of how innocent girls become trapped in a sordid and dangerous life as prostitutes. John Simm is one of my favourite actors and has been ever since I saw him in another TV drama set in the Lake District. Now, of course, he's well known for the excellent TV series 'Life on Mars'. Here, he gives another superb performance but the highest accolade must go to the main female lead, Anamaria Marinca, who won an award , I think, for her portrayal of one of the kidnapped sisters. This is no comfortable story. It is upsetting, disturbing and very realistic. You'll remember it long after you've seen it and that, to me, says quality drama.

[Highly rated reviewer]Fantastic,Scary but very real look into Human Trafficking of Females for the purpose of Sex. The rings of gangs and those working in important places. John SIMM is excellent and a real and true image of those working within the respective governments trying their best to eradicate these behaviours. John's character does his best but does he cross the line when he sleeps with Anya? Thats the tricky part but he does stay focussed right up until the end. The language school in Hammersmith West London is a real Language school and attracts lots of foreigners desperate to learn the english language so fair play to the director's and selecting John SIMM as the lead character and just goes to show that its not just 'A Life On Mars'.

Too longBy a customer from Hillingdon, England , 20 Nov 2009I only decided to watch this in order to step outside my comfort zone, so unsurprisingly, it was not my cup of tea. Nonetheless, it was quite good. It would appeal more to those who like crime documentaries, or those who like to see women as victims of violence or sex objects. The plot is a bit on going and the whole thing is too long, but it is quite well made and acted.
One way streetBy a customer from Mablethorpe , 27 Sep 2009One of the better films you are ever likely to watch. If you lack concentration as some seem to do on reading their reviews or you are lacking in empathy or compassion then this movie may not be for you. A one way street for many abused women - one from which many never return!
