Director Paul Sullivan (Mickey Rourke) wanted to look behind the eyes of pure evil by filming a biographical picture about Belgian mass murderer Freddy Lebecq (Jan Decleir). But when documentation becomes exploitation, actor Dylan Cole (Andrew Howard) attempts to humanise the reviled man's life story through his performance. When this is leaked to the local media, the family of Lebecq's victims want to shut down the production.

      ok

      When Shades was first released, they marketed it like hell, or at least, so I've heard. Final result: high expectations, few adorations.
