It's what it is: a chick flick but excellent at it!
By Neophytou from London , 08 Feb 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
Surely everyone know of this film. It's what it is, an emotional chick flick but excellent at it! Realistic, raw emotion permeates every scene and the acting is simply brilliant. Even if you don't like the plot, this film is well worth watching and I am willing to bet that it will captivate you if you give it a chance.- Was this review helpful to you?

An Older Definition of Love
By HooverDoover1 (1 review) from London , 10 Oct 2011Loved every minute of it! Those in the UK who are old enough to remember will find a Britain that was far gentler, more noble than what we live today. Those younger will discover the author behind the Chronicles of Narnia. Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger light up the whole movie and highlight that fascinating time in English history--right after the Nazis and just before the Beatles. Grab a cup of tea or a glass of sherry and settle in for the evening!- Was this review helpful to you?

A wonderful and moving film
By Antollamh (49 reviews) from Sheffield , 17 Jul 2011Didn't think I'd like it, but had heard of the film, so put it on my list just in case. I thought it was an excellent film - good location shots, and very emotional. Great acting from Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger.- Was this review helpful to you?

Just Perfect
By a customer from uk , 10 Jul 2010A beautiful and very moving story. Understated and very real. Everything from the script, the pace, the cinematography and the acting performances absolutely perfect. Earns a five-star rating without hesitation...my first ever.- Was this review helpful to you?
