Excellent version of Richard III but a below par Tempest. This DVD is an excellent way to get started with Shakespeare, especially at A-Level.
Don't bother - this is just terrible. The animation is very poor on all four plays, but Hamlet is the worst of the lot, I can't find words to describe how awful it is - a ten-year-old could do better.
As an 'introduction' to Shakespeare, it fails totally, unless the intention is to show Shakespeare up as extremely boring - these versions certainly are, in spite of star billings for some of the characters (which aspect does redeem some of them marginally).
Hamlet: To hire or not to hire - my recommendation is NOT.
Romeo and Juliet: A film by any other production would smell much sweeter.
Macbeth: This Macbeth hath murdered Shakespeare.
Othello: A man who loved too woodenly.
