(156)Rude, crude but very good.
By a customer , 14 Jul 2011My friends told me I should have watched this series when it started on TV, and they were 100% right. You laugh when you really should not be laughin. It is rude, crude and very good. Provided you are not a prude you will enjoy this. Life on a council estate with a little bit of exagaration. (perhaps)- Was this review helpful to you?

I can see the appeal but just not for me
By Bassman71 (619 reviews) from Didsbury, England , 11 Jul 2011Sitcom/drama based in and around Manchester featuring the lives of the Gallagher family and their cronies headed by work-shy, drunk Frank.
Never really got around to watching this despite most of my friends and partner being fans so was a bit disappointed after sitting through it.
Im a massive fan of both the Royle Family and the very under-rated Early Doors so was expecting a grittier version of these and, in some ways, it is just that but without the likeable characters or warmth.
Also I didnt really find it that funny, realistic yes, but the script had about four or five funny lines throughout and mainly fell back on the shock value or just lots of swearing or sex.- Was this review helpful to you?

it is indeed shameless :)
By a customer from luton , 25 Mar 2010I love this programme. I have been watching it on tv since the beginning but wanted my boyfriend to see them as he only started watching around the third series.
Highly amusing and very cleverly written, not one for the faint hearted or easily shocked or offended for the rest of us however this is quite possibly one of the best TV series in a long long time.- Was this review helpful to you?

Common People
By Randomfilmbuff (327 reviews) from London , 30 Dec 2009Excellent acting and script this covers what life can be like on a deprived council estate in a humourous way. although i get the impression the writer wants to be the girl in the pulp song 'common people'- Was this review helpful to you?
