LaBute has adapted his own stage play with the original cast, and nothing has been changed in the transition to film. There are 3 rigidly defined acts and each scene is pure dialogue. A greater visual sensibility would have widened the material's potential, but this is a play staged in front of a camera, not cinema at all.
