This is very early in the Sharpe story ie he becomes an officer. It helps to establish the characters for the following episodes. Watch this before the rest if you can.

    Compelling viewing

I've only recently discovered the Sharpe DVDs and am most grateful to the previous rater who listed the order in which they need to be seen. I enjoyed watching these first two Sharpe films, which explain how and why he is commissioned from the ranks, and of course, anything with the delectable Sean Bean is definitely well worth watching! :-) To be sure to get them in the right order, only have one of them at a time on 'high priority', and as soon as you get one, put the next one into 'high priority'. It works!

    How it all began!

It was great to see how Sharpe began and how his relationships formed with Harper and the other Chosen Men. It was a shame though that this was this last episode of the series that I was sent! If you want to watch this series in some sort of logical order I advise you to put them on your order form one at a time!!

    better!

Sharpe's Eagle is much better than Sharpe's Rifles. But you need to see the first one in order to appreciate the story in Sharpe's Eagle. I recommend it mostly because of Sean Hayes acting. If you like period movies when the english where fighting against Napoleon you will like this series.
