A well written and well played variation on the courtroom drama, with Veronica Hamel as the successful businesswoman who sues a lawyer after he rapes her, only to find he counter-sues for slander. Judd Hirsch — Oscar-nominated for his portrayal of a psychiatrist in the 1980 drama Ordinary People, but still best known for his role as nice guy Alex Rieger in TV series Taxi — is surprisingly good, playing against type as the nasty lawyer: you can't wait for him to get his comeuppance. Hamel also gives a good performance, but she will always be best remembered as public defender Joyce Davenport in the acclaimed eighties TV series Hill Street Blues.
