There is much to enjoy in this female cop vs gangsters Hong Kong actioner. Joyce Godenzi proves to be very athletic and keen to do her own stunts. Corey Yuen handles the action with style, with the final girl on girl fight a real no holds barred affair. The plot is a little melodramatic at times, but I won't hold that against the film as a whole. This could be considered average by Hong Kong standards, but still superior to what Hollywood has to offer. Added plus - Sammo Hung, who co produced this for his wife Joyce, puts in a funny cameo. Watch out especially for the hanky scene.
Good movie, it combines action with humour. The director have tried to keep it realistic according asian values. Defintely one to watch.
Joyce Godenzi, star of Eastern Condors and the real life wife of Sammo Hung, stars in this routine action flick which epitimizes Hong Kong output of the 1980's and early 90's.
It offers very little to get excited about, to be honest all of the stunts and action scenes could be ripped out of any numbers of films in this genre.
Hong Kong brings with it a great tradition of action cinema, but for every good film there are hundreds of films like She shoots straight.
This time round, they miss the target by a mile.
