Keep away from the blue flames Ursula!
By Steve from Gloucester , 07 May 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
Saw this as a boy and at the time thought it was the best film I had ever seen - perhaps it was hormonal! Watching it now it does not have the same effect as it seems slow and ponderous and you can't wait for the final scene soon enough.- Was this review helpful to you?

Fun film, well shot, wonderfully cast
By tunnelweb (188 reviews) from Hamilton , 08 Aug 2008Fun film, well shot, wonderfully cast - although not quite up to the novel's standards. Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing play well off each other, as ever.- Was this review helpful to you?

She who must STILL be obeyed
By RiffRaff (112 reviews) from Heywood , 31 Jan 2007The choice of this film was driven by nostalgia; not always the best criterion but one which served me well this time. There is something comforting about the British-ness that Hammer films share with the Carry On series. Desert locations they may purport to be but am I alone in wondering if Sid James, Kenneth Willams & Co werent waiting just out of shot in the Elstree casbah for our intrepid explorers to finish using the set ?Although the characters and dialogue are two-dimensional, the bland presence of John Richardson (whatever became of him ?) is more than offset by the fun of having Peter Cushing and Bernard Cribbins (not to mention Christopher Lee) deliver their lines with some relish. It was also nice to be reminded how good the musical score was. The film was obviously a vehicle for Ursula Andress and she does not disappoint. If one were a purist one could find fault with this film. Its not one of the crowning jewels of cinema but, whether it is just good fun, a rattling good yarn or a guilty pleasure I still like it regardless and Ill watch it again one day.- Was this review helpful to you?

classic
By Marie Ratcliffe from South Yorkshire, England , 23 Jul 2006remember seeing this as a child and was interested in watching it again. It pulled no punches, the plot was a little thin, the scenery moved, but all the same we enjoyed it.
It tells the story of one womans obsession to reincarnate her long lost love, who She her herself had murdered in a fit of Jelious rage.
If you do watch this I recomend that you watch the follow up 'Revengence of She'.
But remember it's an old film and the scenery and stunts can look a little fales- Was this review helpful to you?
