LOVEFiLM Review
-
By Andy Gibbons from LOVEFiLM
Guy Ritchie reteams with Robert Downey Jr. for his second Sherlock Holmes film, and just like the first, it packs in the fun and action with entertaining results.

See it on the BIG Screen!
By WoodyG (2 reviews) , 18 Dec 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
We saw this the day after it was released in the UK and were blown away!
This film was better than we could have possibly imagined, and from what I can remember, it is very close to the original final conflict between Holmes & Moriarty! (No spoilers here!)
The costumes and the scenery was fantastic and Guy Ritchie surpassed himself with the direction!
This is a must see film for every Holmes fan, if you enjoyed the first film, then you're gonna love this one!- Was this review helpful to you?

Not Like the Books
By AVSheard (87 reviews) , 31 May 2013Good in most parts with lots of action and suspense. A good story line if you ignore all the mistakes that are there because Americans didn't do enough research into what Europe was really like then.
The action was superb because of the masterful use of slow motion giving you a sense of just how fast the characters mind were racing. I can't remember that much fighting from the books and the Cossack assassin was very out of place in the world of Homes.
The way that you sore Homes work out how things would happen was awesome if a little confusing. There was a lack of him explaining how he deduced thing which was a shame as these were the best bits from the book and resent BBC TV series.
Overall it was very entertaining but there is still plenty of room for improvement. Due to its fast pace I would not watch this whilst tired.- Was this review helpful to you?

Cartoon Holmes
By ChrisYiddo (2 reviews) , 24 Apr 2013This is a cartoon strip Sherlock Holmes film, for anyone that doesn't want to think too hard. I personally found it shallow and formulaic. Didn't like Downey Jr as Holmes at all, which obviously inhibited my appreciation of the film. Switched it off after 30 minutes.- Was this review helpful to you?
