See it on the BIG Screen!By WoodyG (2 reviews) , 18 Dec 2011
[Highly rated reviewer]We saw this the day after it was released in the UK and were blown away!
This film was better than we could have possibly imagined, and from what I can remember, it is very close to the original final conflict between Holmes & Moriarty! (No spoilers here!)
The costumes and the scenery was fantastic and Guy Ritchie surpassed himself with the direction!
This is a must see film for every Holmes fan, if you enjoyed the first film, then you're gonna love this one!

The worst everBy Neevo (1 review) , 19 Oct 2013This is the first time I've turned a film off after 20 minutes. I've sat through some films in the hope that they would get better and indeed sometimes they do but this was abysmal in the extreme. Special effects for a film about Sherlock Holmes - do me a favour. Dialogue was awful, Robert Downey's idea of playing Sherlock Holmes is beyond description.
Shocking holmesBy philofficer (2 reviews) , 28 Sep 2013This film was not bad, lots of action but for me alittle too much. I couldn't follow the story line and actually fell asleep watching it believe it or not. It was all a little too far fetched for me
It's ok, but liked the first one moreBy georgie25 (10 reviews) , 22 Sep 2013I was not as impressed with this second Sherlock film as I was the first. It seems this one had a massive budget which they certainly used. However I thought it slightly took away from the edgy way the last one was filmed. I enjoyed the first film more than this one.
I wish they hadn't botheredBy Vericacious (17 reviews) , 16 Sep 2013A shockingly disappointing film. Technically well made, of course (if not well directed), this film is abysmal in everything it was trying to do. (What was it trying to do? Story-wise, it was a total mess, plot-wise, it was a total mess and tone-wise, it was neither drama nor comedy - just self-indulgent, failed high camp.) Neither particularly true to the original stories, nor an inventive reinterpretation - it is immeasurably inferior to the BBC series in this regard, though some (morons) might think Holmes being a ninja-type action hero worthwhile - this is a film that should be buried.

2nd film syndrome?By Barnseytheclaret (191 reviews) from Sheffield , 14 Aug 2013After a promising first venture, I was looking forward to this 2nd instalment. Sadly, whilst not a 'bad' film, I felt a bit disappointed. Too many slow-mo sequences which are a bit of a Guy Ritchie cliche these days. Good performances from Law and Downey Jr. and the story was OK but a bit confusing in parts. Overall, quite good, but sometimes, less is more!
