Massivly Disappointing

Not a classic! But maybe worth a watch

Detective who is also an action hero? Possibly.
If you get this film and expect a classic Sherlock Holmes movie then be warned! Yes Sherlock does use his powers of deduction to stop Lord Blackwood taking over the world but he does it with a lot of fighting, explosions and wounds. It's all pretty well produced and the acting is decent... but to me it's not Sherlock! They would have been better off inventing a new character that is not tied down to living in Baker Street, playing the violin and relying on Dr. Watson.
Overall quite a good plot and an average movie but I think the author of the original books will be turning in his grave. If you want to watch a mroe classic and totally engaging Sherlock then find the BBC series called 'Sherlock' with Benedict Cumberbatch.- Was this review helpful to you?
