A rare leading role for that accomplished comedy actor Dabney Coleman. He plays a cop on the verge of retirement who discovers that not only is he dying, but that the insurers will pay out only if he dies in the line of duty. To the astonishment of partner Matt Frewer, Coleman is then transformed into the craziest risk-taking policeman since Mel Gibson. It's an intriguing concept and Coleman milks it for all it is worth, but director Gregg Champion doesn't look entirely comfortable juggling the action and comedy. The talented supporting players include Teri Garr, Joe Pantoliano and Barry Corbin.

Certainly had its funny moments and the acting was good. Good supporting cast and would make family entertainment for a Sunday afternoon.

    OK

Slow to begin with but once the hospital test was known, it picked up in pace and was often quite funny
