    [Highly rated reviewer]

this film is superb. my children loved it. Shrek played by Mike Myers, is a green ogre, who only likes life when he is completely alone, and who wants to live his days in peace.

Shrek becomes upset, when his swamp is invaded by all kinds of magical creatures. they have been evicted from the kingdom, by the very small Lord Farquaad. The local fairy tale creatures (including the now-famous Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio and the Gingerbread Man), settle in the ogre's swamp, and Shrek wants answers from Farquaad. A quest of sorts starts for Shrek and his new pal, a talking donkey, played by Eddie Murphy, as they go to meet Lord Farquaad to demand his swamp back.

But Farquaad has other ideas. He's looking for someone to go on a quest for him. The mission, is to rescue Princess Fiona played by Cameron Diaz, from a fire breathing dragon. So he makes a deal with Shrek - rescue the girl, and he can have his swamp back.

Shrek agrees to the deal. But Fiona is not at all what Shrek thought she'd be like. And she has a secret.

i am not going to say what the secret is, as this would spoil this film.

    well worth renting out.

I just love good quality animation coupled with top actors and a good humerous script. Well, This is it. There is no Better. (Puss in Boots and Donkey add the iceing to the cake).

I really thought this movie would be for kids but how mistaken I was. I had heard rave reviews from all ages so ordered the movie and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. Eddie Murphy is absolutely brilliant and so are the other characters.
