Lost in Spacey
By dogdooda (52 reviews) from london , 18 Sep 2010[Highly rated reviewer]
So, obviously Spacey is in London 90% time directing Shakespeare plays etc and 10% of his time is spent doing terrible films in Hollywood to pay the mortgage. You have seen this film before, done better and it was new the first time around. The old cliches are dragged out...the therapist is more crazy than the patients and the underprivileged adolescent helps them see what life is really about. Gee whizz, if only life was like the movies. Boring and I've seen so many bad films with Spacey in them I've put him in a box with Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, they too also do anything for money...what happened to integrity???- Was this review helpful to you?

(20)Ignore All The Other Reviews!!! Read This!!
By a customer , 02 Apr 2012If your are in the process of considering this film for hire, please ignore all the other moronic, negative reviews that have been left previously!
This film certainly isn't spacey's best work but its not terrible!
Spacey plays a famous Hollywood shrink who, is in the process of recovering from a rather traumatic experience. Spacey, in a bid to cope with his situation, finds himself turning to alternative means in order to cope with the situation and this film follows his bid for clarity and closure.
The film also also follows about 6 other characters whose live almost interlock, cross over and mirror each other in different ways.
The Plot, script, lighting, style are very reminiscent of the film 'crash' and almost looks very similar. (I think Shrink was filmed in Digital too!) However, this film does suffer from too many moments of lucky, unrealistic coincidence and feels as though at parts that it may have been rushed, but on the whole, a very watchable, Hollywood expose, of the many complications, emotions and frailties of life.
In summery, I would give this film a watch! I have seen far worse films, with far better ratings on the Love film website!
Don't expect too much and I think you will be pleasantly surprised!

Shrink wrap for the bin
By 2DDAV (4 reviews) , 26 Nov 2011Distinctly average film. There was nothing in this film to really hold your attention, just one of those films where some stuff happened, then some other stuff happened, no great plot to follow and Kevin Spacey gave a mediocre performance at best.- Was this review helpful to you?

Shrink - more a series of moments than a movie
By MelissaMarabamma (220 reviews) from South Coast UK , 27 Jun 2011This film is more like a peep show than a movie with a clearly flowing script. I have seen nothing similar at least in recent memory. You share the life of the shrink to the stars (rising and falling) as if you were a fly on the wall. You see the deteriation in his ability to look after his clients as well as neglecting his own physical, emotional amd mental wellbeing. It has humour and humanity displayed in a somewhat raw fashion.- Was this review helpful to you?

All the way through...Kevin Spacey tortured soul smoking weed..I Kept waiting for it to become interesting..The Storyline does not flow well either, with several different scenario's bleeding into one at the end.. and not very well...- Was this review helpful to you?
