Strangely oldfashioned
By a customer from Frodsham , 04 Mar 2010[Highly rated reviewer]
I saw this in the US recently. It started well but was slow paced. The plot line is ridiculous, which is not necessarily a problem if you can be persuaded to keep your disbelief out of the way. However by the end I felt as though I'd watched a 60s Hammer Horror film, only with rather good camera work.- Was this review helpful to you?

Disturbing Thriller
By LemmingLife (5 reviews) , 22 Apr 2013Starts as a police procedural. Wanders around various horror / thriller stereotypes, nodding to Hammer, Twilight Zone, Cape Fear on the way before getting seriously nasty if you have children - there is one scene you will not want to watch twice - and after all that, it all gets seriously weird.- Was this review helpful to you?

Creepy, strange, odd and watchable
By FullofStars (41 reviews) from Scotland , 14 Apr 2013The creeps is in full effect in this Titantic of a prison thriller. DiCaprio is at his nervous shuffling best and is finally looking his age! Heart stopping moments with fab supporting roles from Max and Ben make this a classic of the genre and Martin finally directs a good film again.- Was this review helpful to you?

Over rated
By Bobsview (554 reviews) from Gloucestershire , 29 Mar 2013I thought this film is over rated. It starts well and promises a lot and for a while you think you might be watching something very good but the plot and ultimate twist is just far too contrived . It uses more and more gory flash backs and predictable horror film ploys to try to make is scary. In the end disappointing especially after the build up.- Was this review helpful to you?
