Excellent adaptation
By a customer from Derbyshire, UK , 08 Jul 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
One of George Elliot's (Mary Ann Evans)best novels, Silas Marner is here well adapted, in the TV version starring Ben Kingsley. He is wonderful, as ever. TV classics can tend to 'date' rather quickly, but this one stands the test of time better than most. Her rich narrative is impossible to recreate, but this is a very creditable attempt at capturing the essence of the book.- Was this review helpful to you?

Silas Marner: The Weaver Of Raveloe
By a customer from Lowestoft , 02 Jun 2010A very good, if now, somewhat dated adaptation of this novel.
Ben Kinsgley was as usual faultless but felt that Patsy Kensit as his daughter was not good casting.- Was this review helpful to you?
