The transition of Silent Hill from video game screens to the silver screen appears to have been a success, as it knocked horror spoof Scary Movie 4 off the top of the US box office at the weekend. Radha Mitchell (Pitch Black, Phone Booth, Man On Fire) plays Rose Da Silva in the film in which a mother looks for her sick daughter in the deserted town of Silent Hill. Those who enjoy the charms of gore-fest films such as Hostel could be pleased to hear that a sequel to the ultra-violent movie has been scheduled for release on June 8th 2007.
