Scripted by Stephen King from his own story Cycle of the Werewolf, this half-hearted lycanthropic horror is a tired sheep in werewolf's clothing. Disabled Corey Haim (his wheelchair is the silver bullet of the title) knows there's a werewolf on the prowl in his small town and convinces his sister (Megan Fellows) and their alcoholic uncle (Gary Busey) to help him unmask its human identity. First-time director Daniel Attias draws credible performances from his able cast but the deliberately irony-rich murders misguidedly draw more laughter than terror. ET creator Carlo Rambaldi's embarrassingly artificial werewolf doesn't help matters either.

    Better Than Remebered.

This was better on DVD than I remember it on video, better sound and picture. The blood scenes were as gruesome as before and as always with stephen king films the suspense was smoothly done, an excellent story line with a nice twist in the tale....

    Not bad!!!

I watched this film when I was a LOT younger and a big Corey Haim fan thought I would give it another go and still enjoyed it! Give it a go if you feel like a bit of brainless fun. Suprised it's an 18. Quite tame by todays standards.

    Appalling werewolf picture

Appalling werewolf picture from the pen of Stephen King.

Any tension and suspense are done away with in favour of graphic gore and tedious coming-of-age drivel. Do not bother.

    Fang-toothed cheese

Pretty low tech, as you'd expect from a film of this age - but if you like your werewolf movies you've got to see this one - it has just the right amount of humour and poor special effects to keep you giggling, but despite several wooden acting performances we found ourselves enjoying this film - plenty of chomping, plenty of blood, a plot you suss after about 10 mins, but who cares - it's a werewolf movie - good stuff... let's not take life too seriously folks..!

    Rubbish

How can anybody think anything good about this abortion of a horror film? It is dire! S King is a hack writer at the best of times and the script for this was one of his worst. I know everyone else in the world thinks he's a maaster of horror but really this was about as scary as an episode of Scooby-Doo with Scrapy-Doo in it and as for the 'twist' well really was I the only one to see it coming? DO NOT WATCH!

    Classic Stephen King

I love this film, have seen it many times and loved it every one. A classic Stephen King with a bit of blood and gore but a funny side too. Would definetly recommend it.
