Great live performance in Central Park New York. All their best songs sung well and the picture and sound quality are good. Well worth a view (Especially if you remember them first time around)
This pleasant documentation of the 1981 reunion of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel is a must-see for die-hard fans, of course, but it's likely to please the more casual listener also. The duo's much-ballyhooed get-together shows that even though the partners may have been unequal in songwriting talent, there was still something special about them when they reunited to harmonize on their classics. Simon's post-Garfunkel compositions work well too, and a highlight is his 'Slip-Slidin' Away,' in which his soaring voice on the chorus wraps beautifully around Artie's. 'Late in the Evening' is a standout also, showcasing the band of top-notch New York musicians assembled for the occasion, including Steve Gadd and Richard Tee.
I had high expecations after reading the reviews for this DVD, but i thought the concert lacked atmosphere and the onstage presence was slightly depressing.
They looked as though they didn't really like each other.
Art couldn't be bothered doing all his normal harmonies and sometimes they just sang the same style.
Although filmed in New York this is a mirror image of the concert performed at the old Wembly Stadium.
I was fortunate to have gone to that one circa late 70's/80's.
Very polished perfomance and the choice of song material excellent.
One to watch again sometime.
I would say at their best and hard to be beaten.

Great really enjoyed it
A genuine 1970s experience - they just don't do concerts like this any more. No special effects, lighting, giant video screens, dry ice or fancy costumes. The stage is even built out of galvanised sheeting!
What you do get is the pure talent of Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel at the height of their powers.
Simon and Garfunkel fans will find all their favourite songs here - plus a couple that have disappeared without trace (understandably).
This DVD is worth hiring just to see and hear Art Garfunkel sing "Bridge over Troubled Water" - pure magic.
Still one of the best partnerships in pop or folk history, it depends how you would categorise their music. It's the first time I've seen the concert although I've had the music CD for years.
It surprised me how young they both looked although I suppose the concert was held almost 23 years ago. Obviously their music has passed the test of time.
Simon & Garfunkel..
Superb, Worth Watching
