It was great. The Simpsons never disappoint. I had never seen any of the episode before so it was refreshing too.

this has to be one of the best simpsons dvd ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!
This DVD was really good and funny. It was the simpsons with 4 episodes and 'the making of the bart wars'. It was excellent. If you love humour or the simpsons, you'll love this.

Classic episodes of some of Bart's moments....a good watch!
'Mayored to the Mob' is the most cartoonish of the 4 episodes - the other 3 staying close to the original claimed vision of 'an examination of an ordinary American family'.
I was gripped by 'Marge Be Not Proud' the first time I saw it on TV and it remains a powerful episode, specially considering the length.
Dog of Death's ending's execution is a bit weak - I think the time constraints hindered it - but here again is an episode with implicit cautionary guidance and easily relatable themes.
Mayored to the Mob borders on the surreal and is little but a series of comic antics. Mark Hammil's role seems ludicrous and so is a perfect fit.
Lisa's Secret War is a story about sticking with family and overcoming obstacles. Almost complete normality persists.
Despite all that the Simpsons did to promote animation as an adult medium in the western world, it can feel dated and sometimes falls flat. The episodes here may be above average and form a good cross-section of the series but don't feel like the fare that should exist on what I assumed would be a 'greatest hits'-ish thing.
Fans will probably be better served by going through the series boxsets.
I would specifically recommend this disc for my niece when she's old enough to understand words and stories, given the strong morals.
As Funny As The Rest
Sorry to say, I don't usually have anything bad to say, but I got this expecting to see something new. I had seen all of the episodes and so had my six kids.(a great source of input) However, had I read the synopsis throughly then I may have realised this. Hence the importance of reviews. Dave.
