Simpsons, The - Kiss And Tell

Despite being known for their cutting, anarchic, and sometimes crude humour, beloved yellow sitcom family THE SIMPSONS have a well-documented softer side. Though maintaining a determined embargo on sappiness, the show occasionally manages to celebrate family and love in its own often bitterly funny way. Four classic (and previously unreleased) episodes are presented here, all dealing with love and romance, and all absolutely hilarious: 'Natural Born Kissers', 'The Way We Weren't', 'Large Marge', and 'Three Gays Of The Condo'. This programme may well be one of the best Valentine's Day presents ever conceived assuming you're lucky enough to have a valentine with an excellent sense of humour.

    superb..................

this dvd is superb. the episodes are:

Natural Born Kissers - where Homer and Marge have trouble capturing their old magic in the bedroom and learn to get it back by adding a sense of danger to their love life. They begin 'snuggling' in very public places in order to add excitement to their romance, but this quickly goes awry when they are caught on the miniature golf course.

Large Marge - Lisa wins a bet with Homer on the Dewey and Truman presidential election of 1948, and gets to pick the day's father and daughter activity. Lisa chooses to assist with building houses for the homeless. Homer removes his wedding ring after getting paint on it, and confusion and mayhem ensues, when Marge believes he is flirting with other women.

Three Gays of the Condo - Homer and Marge argue, when Homer finds out that Marge married him, because she was pregnant with Bart. He decides to move in with Millhouse's dad. When this does not work out, Homer is eventually taken in by Karl, his former assistant. Karl has a very flamboyant lifestyle, and Homer gets involved in it with very funny results.

and The Way We Weren't - When Homer mentions that Marge was not his first kiss, the story flashes back to Homer in summer camp, where his first kiss was with an anonymous girl, who turns out to be Marge after all. In the flashback, Homer fails to show up for a planned meeting with her, because he accidentally winds up in a fat camp, but during all the years since that incident ,Marge believed she was stood up.

these are very funny episodes, and well worth watching.

    Not Too Bad

This Simpsons DVD is very different from the 'Classics' series. The main difference is the presence of music over the main screen.

The best episode is 'Large Marge'. My friend Ross Green told me about this episode & I remember seeing the opening bit with the three ex-presidents squabbling with the Three Stooges on TV during a trip to CentreParks in 2003. It has now become my favourite episdoe ever. The same can't be said for 'The Way We Weren't', which is one of the more rescent episodes which the writers clearly had trouble with. The other two epidoes are good as well, although 'Natural Born Kissers' is also available on the 'Classics' series 'Too Hot For TV' DVD as well. 'Three Gays Of The Condo' is a bit offputting, but very funny as well.

Overall, I give the DVD 4 stars.
