Excellent factual war story

Based on historical fact 'Sink the Bismark' shows very convincingly just what Britain was up against during the World War 2.
Kenneth More gives an outstanding performance, perhaps as good as his Douglas Bader in Reach for the Sky, as the navy man in overall charge of stategic planning. A very good support cast makes this an enjoyable story.- Was this review helpful to you?

Kenneth More shows a little more restraint and depth to his role away from his usual comdies and starts with a certain almost teutonic toughness which his superiors believe is necessary to beat the Germans at their own game.
It's also fun to spot faces that went on to bigger things like Johnny Briggs.- Was this review helpful to you?

A Classic

It lets the very real drama of the situation drive the narrative, and the low-key reaction at the end of the battle is so very British. The addition of a little romantic action is no more than a minor irritation, and perhaps balances some of the chill of grey battleships fighting it out in the cold North Atlantic.- Was this review helpful to you?
