I have just finished one big marathon viewing of the whole series and for me it is the best acted, best scripted tv programme bar none!!! There's not many shows that can make you laugh and cry in the same episode or have you on the edge of your seat in anticipation. That is the beauty of Six Feet Under. The last season was a joy to watch and by the end i was crying like a baby, it was so heartbreaking!!.
The final montage of all the characters fates was so moving to watch but also reassuring to know they all lived full, meaningful lives whilst their loved ones were looking over them. Truly awe- inspiring television and it will be sorely missed. I feel bereaved as i'm sure thousands of other people do?!
It's not to everyone's taste but if you love it you absolutely love it!! This is the fifth season and I have watched every single one from the beginning.
It is (as the title might suggest) a series set in a funeral home and there are many happy and sad moments. It is he story of a family, The Fishers, in the first episode Mr Fisher is killed in a car accident so from then on the narative focuses on Mrs Fisher and her 3 adult children, Nate, Claire and Keith. Nate is the handsome boy, Keith the gay one and Claire a stroppy teenager. So, the series is about life, love, death and all sorts of other things. It is quirky and does contain adult issues but it deals with them in a sensitive adult way.
It has received many awards and accolades in America where the network really wasn't sure it would take off, but it has, in a amssive way.
I guess you either love it or hate it but I guarantee one thing, you'll never have seen anything like it before!!
Best to start with series one if possible.
