    superb

my daughter Bethany really enjoyed this film. it is set in a world where superheroes are commonly known and accepted.

young Will Stronghold, the son of the Commander and Jetstream, tries to find a balance between being a normal teenager and an extraordinary being.

It all begins at a secret school in the clouds like none on earth: Sky High, the first and only high school for kids with super-human powers going through crime-fighting puberty. At Sky High, the student body throw flames with their footballs, study Villainy with their Chemistry and are divided into Heroes and Sidekicks instead of jocks and geeks.

It's an out-of-this-world yet completely recognizable place where cool gadgetry, rampant bravery and awe-inspiring magical skills mix it up with parental battles, peer pressure and dating trouble--with explosively fun results. This year's class features some of the best, brightest and most powerfully gifted super-teens ever assembled. And then there's Will Stronghold. When you're the son of the world's most legendary super heroes, The Commander and Jetstream, people expect you to live up to the family name The problem is that Will is starting with no superpowers of his own and, worst of all, instead of joining the ranks of the Hero class, he finds himself relegated to being a Sidekick.

Now he must somehow survive his freshman year while dealing with an overbearing gym coach, a bully with super speed and a dangerous rebel with a grudge (and the ability to shoot fire from his hands)--not to mention the usual angst, parental expectations and girl problems that accompany teenage life. But when an evil villain threatens his family, friends and the very sanctity of Sky High, Will must use his newfound superpowers to save the day and prove himself a Hero worthy of the family tradition.

    well worth renting out.

Should be good could be better

Sky High is the modern equivilent of the old Jocks and Nerds High School movies so common in the '80s.

This time following the glut of superhero movies the distinction is between Superheros and Sidekicks after that it's all a matter of the usual suspects turning up the beautiful best friend , lovable dorky friend, the fat and thin bullies, bitchy cheerleaders etc.

So imagine all the cliches of a typical high school movie but with super powered fights in there and you've pretty much got the film.

To be honest this has far more potential as a tv series but it is fun there's a cheesy super villain plot that's easy to see coming a mile off but that's not really the point.

This is a good fun movie and reasonably well acted by it's young cast as an in joke for the older staff the head mistress of the sky high super school is Linda Carter.

Me and my three children loved this film.

We thought it was great fun.

The children liked it so much they watched it every day for 4 days and I have now bought a copy.

Well worth watching if you like stuff like 'The Incredibles' etc.

    Junior High

Stupidly watchable disney movie about a school for superhero kids. It's kind of X - Men but PG rated and with loads of fun instead of sulking. My kids loved it (aged 5 & 8) and I pretty much enjoyed it too.

    Super Fun

Okay, so this is not the most intelligent film that you’re likely to see, but highly enjoyable. A different take on the superhero genre done extremely well, look out for the many references to other movies.

    A comfortable 3 stars

Ok so this is a kid’s movie and my wife and I are moving towards the latter years of our youth but after chuckling at a brief trailer we felt inspired and added this X-men style comedy action super hero movie. This movie tells the story of a special school in the sky that caters for the children of super heroes and people with extraordinary powers, some hereditary and passed down from their parents others from falling into toxic waste or similar, pretty much obvious day to day stuff so far? Sky High focuses on a young boy Will Stronghold, son of two of the most powerful super heroes played amusingly by Kurt Russell and Kelly Preston. Will is off to school but has not yet gained the use of his special abilities, Sky High follows his story as he makes friends and enemies, falls in and out of love and of course realises his special powers and saves the day. It’s amusing in places, entertaining throughout and there really is something for all ages here, we are confident most kids will love this film and overall could not rate below 3 stars. A comfortable 3 stars.

Just a great film, for all the family. If you like the incredibles, and want Thunderbirds The Movie, but much much better - rent this one.

    Superior family entertainment

Initially, one can be forgiven in thinking that hey I've seen this film as a cartoon called the incredibles!

Then later on one can be forgiven in thinking that this film is Harry potter with super heroes instead of wizards!

But there is no denying that this movie flows with charm, comedy and adventure with likeable actors and breezy direction - I watched the credits with a big silly grin on my face! Great family fun.
