Not your typical BOND Film, but a Very Different type of BOND FilmBy a customer , 27 Oct 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]Skyfall is almost as good as Casino Royal but definitely a lot better than Quantum of Solace, the plot makes more sense! Oh a difficult film to review. This isnt your typical Bond Film. Its perhaps the most unique and odd Bond film ever made out of all them. It doesnt follow the same formula as the rest of the series. Yes, theres Bond Girls, a Bond Villain and a great opening sequence, but the film, dare I say, is more about M (Dench who is awesome) rather than about Bond himself.
After the opening sequence, it takes while to get into, about and 1 hour and a half, as soon as Bardem makes his appearance who is very good as the bad guy. It reminded me of how The Dark Knight went along, although Skfall not as cleverly accomplished as that film. The action scenes are decent, but not as memorable as past Bond films like Casino Royal. Craig is showing some Bond humour now, but not on a Roger Moore humour level, that will take a miracle! And Q returns, which great, but no invisible car, which is great too.
I like the ending, sombre but it allows Daniel Craigs Bond to go in a new direction, which I look forward to seeing. Overall a very, very, different Bond Film, that is enjoyable to watch, but it isnt perfect. Hopefully Chris Nolan will direct the next one and show his interpretation of the perfect Bond.
Good effort 007.

super bondBy corkus (64 reviews) , 24 Apr 2013BOND...back to basics, and in my opinion the best of the modern bond movies. only a couple of wisecracks and non of the silly young girls falling over a middle aged man lark, good acting by all cast members. keep this formula...it works.
ham fisted nonsenseBy a customer , 24 Apr 2013This bond film is a cruel joke, utter nonsense with hardly any redeeming features. It's a shabby, ham fisted attempt at a bond film. If it was the early 80's then maybe it would be a masterpiece. By all means watch this film but try not to think about it or you'll be disappointed & your brain will weep.
Come back Roger and Sean all is forgivenBy riskysmith (150 reviews) , 24 Apr 2013In the past I have been a fan of James Bond, but unfortunately they have been going on for too long. The original two are now old men, and logically so should Bond be. Each one tries to outdo the last with outrageous stunts, and this one is no different. I am now of the opinion if you seen one you've seen them all.
Not the best "Bond Film", but perhaps the best film with Bond in it?By LeightonJonesy (23 reviews) from Hastings , 24 Apr 2013Skyfall manages to acknowledge and reference previous films and have fun with the tropes of the franchise but retain the mature/gritty/modern tone that was established in the 'Casino Royale' reboot, but unfortunately lost in 'Quantum of Solace'. It works well as part of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Dr. No & the Bond film series, but as well as looking back there is a conscious effort to move the franchise forward by systematically destroying established aspects and also introducing it's own take on certain aspects. It has taken three films but it now seems the tone, back story and world of Daniel Craig's Bond has been established I have high hopes for the next film.

Bond with BaggageBy furelli (44 reviews) , 23 Apr 2013An excellant start to the film, all action & edge of yer seat stuff in places, then swiftly into the Bond theme, also apt, then the plot, then the Bond girls, bits of the genre explained within the plot but before you know it, the films kinda treading water & the middle 1/3rd is jus standard fair before the pace is up again & the action full ending is played out. I like the way these set of films explain & develop the James Bond genre however for me it's the weakest of the three & particularly didin't go much on the Bond girl who at times seemed overawed on screen if thats possible & as for the bad guy, nah sorry, portrayed an OTT style bad guy but then jus wasn't, all to predictable really. Still a decent film & better than average, maybe it'll grow on me some more
