Not your typical BOND Film, but a Very Different type of BOND FilmBy a customer , 27 Oct 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]Skyfall is almost as good as Casino Royal but definitely a lot better than Quantum of Solace, the plot makes more sense! Oh a difficult film to review. This isnt your typical Bond Film. Its perhaps the most unique and odd Bond film ever made out of all them. It doesnt follow the same formula as the rest of the series. Yes, theres Bond Girls, a Bond Villain and a great opening sequence, but the film, dare I say, is more about M (Dench who is awesome) rather than about Bond himself.
After the opening sequence, it takes while to get into, about and 1 hour and a half, as soon as Bardem makes his appearance who is very good as the bad guy. It reminded me of how The Dark Knight went along, although Skfall not as cleverly accomplished as that film. The action scenes are decent, but not as memorable as past Bond films like Casino Royal. Craig is showing some Bond humour now, but not on a Roger Moore humour level, that will take a miracle! And Q returns, which great, but no invisible car, which is great too.
I like the ending, sombre but it allows Daniel Craigs Bond to go in a new direction, which I look forward to seeing. Overall a very, very, different Bond Film, that is enjoyable to watch, but it isnt perfect. Hopefully Chris Nolan will direct the next one and show his interpretation of the perfect Bond.
Good effort 007.

Finally - after 50 years - a Really Classic Bond Movie!By Chrisaljack (413 reviews) from Hellingly , 18 Nov 2012This film is a revelation: it finally - after 50 years - brings Bond into the genuinely classic movie mold. Skyfall stands alone as portraying James Bond as the 007 in Ian Fleming's books (even though this story was not written by him! Daniel Craig also finally takes the 'Best Bond Ever' title away from Sean Connery with this role. Brilliantly directed by Sam Mendes, everyone - even Judi Dench - steps up a notch. At the end of the film we are promised that James Bond will return: he has the greatest challenge of his career ahead of him if he is to even equal his role in Skyfall.
By far one of the best movies i have ever seen!By moviecritic12 (1 review) , 18 Nov 2012I loved this movie. The acting from Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Dame Judy Dench and also the other actors was phenomenal and the story was very interesting and kept you on the edge of your seat.
It contained a good level of humour but not too much as the thrill factor was still there.
I don't think that I would change anything in this movie at all as it is action packed and typically Bond which is what you expect from a Bond movie.
This is the first Bond movie I have watched so i can't really compare it to the other Bond movies. People have said to me that this Bond movie wasn't as exciting as some of the others but i totally disagree with them saying this one wasn't exciting. It was completely thrilling and is definitely my favorite movie of the year.
I would love to see what they are coming up with next time!
Bond has a heart!By Whipster (663 reviews) from Shropshire , 16 Nov 2012
THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideThis movie from the Bond franchise will definitely split opinion. Why? Because its less hard-edged than the last two outings and instead has its focus on Bond's emotional make-up and past. All of the usual elements are present - some great stunts, a superb 'baddie' and excellent cinematography - as you'd expect. But what you also get is that Fleming's supposedly emotionless killing machine does in fact have a heart - who'd have thought it! Personally I found the whole thing hugely enjoyable and its nice to have the action centred on London for a change. There are several surprises along the way too. 4 shaken and not stirred stars.
Bond at it's best?By Chantal (1126 reviews) from London , 15 Nov 2012Everyone is raving about this movie. Casino Royale was better imho. However this one is a close 2nd. IT feels like a 3 episode mini series in one. I also watched it on IMAX and some of the SFX, specially the blue screens were unfortunately evident.
Some of the images are beautiful; specially in Shangai.
The acting are fantastic specially from that French new comer. Bardem is a great baddie as usual.
Skyfall........doesn't fall at all !By Locutus (3 reviews) , 13 Nov 2012Having seen every Bond at least several times...... I like to think of myself as a bit of a fan.
At no point, was I disappointed in this film, and will without a doubt, be the benchmark for future Bond films.
All of the principles perform at their best and there is just enough links to the past so as not to drown in sentiments.
Casts backgrounds are explored just enough to add flesh without it turning into Jeremy Kyle with rocket powered grenades.
And as a Bond villain......Bardem is right up there with the great Donald Pleasance
Very highly recommended
