Daniel Craig cements his 007 capabilities, while Javier Bardem steps in as one of the great Bond villains.

Not your typical BOND Film, but a Very Different type of BOND FilmBy a customer , 27 Oct 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]Skyfall is almost as good as Casino Royal but definitely a lot better than Quantum of Solace, the plot makes more sense! Oh a difficult film to review. This isnt your typical Bond Film. Its perhaps the most unique and odd Bond film ever made out of all them. It doesnt follow the same formula as the rest of the series. Yes, theres Bond Girls, a Bond Villain and a great opening sequence, but the film, dare I say, is more about M (Dench who is awesome) rather than about Bond himself.
After the opening sequence, it takes while to get into, about and 1 hour and a half, as soon as Bardem makes his appearance who is very good as the bad guy. It reminded me of how The Dark Knight went along, although Skfall not as cleverly accomplished as that film. The action scenes are decent, but not as memorable as past Bond films like Casino Royal. Craig is showing some Bond humour now, but not on a Roger Moore humour level, that will take a miracle! And Q returns, which great, but no invisible car, which is great too.
I like the ending, sombre but it allows Daniel Craigs Bond to go in a new direction, which I look forward to seeing. Overall a very, very, different Bond Film, that is enjoyable to watch, but it isnt perfect. Hopefully Chris Nolan will direct the next one and show his interpretation of the perfect Bond.
Good effort 007.

Over-hyped and still too miserable.By Vericacious (17 reviews) , 16 Sep 2013At least the story is clear enough - it couldn't be much simpler - but where's the glamour and panache? I suppose it would help if Daniel Craig was better at comedy. There are nods to the past (for the 50th anniversary, of course) - most notably the DB5 - but Bond's producers are all too aware of the competition from other action films to be too self-indulgent. Javier Bardem is fine, but not a stand-out villain, and the supporting cast are all fine, too. (A special mention for Albert Finney, in a minor role, who, at least, made you care about his character.) Everything is in place, including, of course, the action, stunts and explosions (which aren't overdone), but it all leaves you feeling a bit rueful; you've been through an experience, but not one that leaves you feeling that good. The ending provides yet another beginning, so perhaps there are plans to attempt more enjoyable fare? Personally, I don't think that's likely, though - not with Michael G. Wilson in charge; it can't be a coincidence that Wilson, the lack of clear story and a more downbeat tone all started with Moonraker.
007 passableBy number1son (51 reviews) , 15 Sep 2013Not the best Bond film I've ever seen but passable, but Sean Connery is without doubt the best Bond ever for me,and Daniel Craig isn't a very good actor anyway, but special effects were excellent, but storyline was very poor, maybe due to fact they have long since run out of ian Flemings original stories, but worth seeing, but wouldn't want to sit through it again ray.
