Some good bits and some bad bitsBy a customer from In Florida , 12 Nov 2010
[Highly rated reviewer]Overall i enjoyed this film, the effects are very good most of the time with only a couple of moments that were fake looking. The story is simple, aliens are attacking, but at no point in the film is the word alien used. You'd think the characters may have questioned eachother on what was attacking them or tried to look slightly surprised by the fact this is happening to them and not act like it happens every weekend! So the acting has it's poor parts and the fact that they never do anything that you would actually do in real life is frustrating at times. At no time was i bored though so i will go and see part 2 whnever it comes out.

Why so many terrible reviews? This film is a little different.By MadeStuff (7 reviews) , 11 May 2013There have been a lot of alien invasion films in the last few years so it was good to see one that approached the genre from a slightly different point of view. There are no soldier/police/hero types in our hapless band of characters. They're largely 'normal' people attempting to deal with a difficult situation and suffering from the indecision that often effects people who find themselves caught in the headlights, so-to-speak. These are not the usual suspects who are going to repel the alien invaders, and for that part I really appreciated the film. Some great visual effects and a more novel approach to the aliens themselves was also appreciated. Character development could have been better and the end leaves things wide open for a sequel, although, if it comes, I suspect it may be very bizarre indeed . . .

IF ONLY IT HAD DISAPPEARED OVER THE HORIZON!By nORMObAZZA (1249 reviews) , 23 Mar 2013God knows where I got the tip for this one! It didn't bode well when one of the main characters is played by FAISON ('Turkleton' in 'Scrubs' - love him in that. Career over!?), and another is played by BALFOUR, whose face has been used by Disney for many years on which to base their heroic male lead animations. A little later ZAYAS (the token Hispanic from 'Dexter') enters the fray and you know this is on a downward spiral (hence the 'Don't Look Up' tagline?). The CGI is excellent, but that is clearly where the vast majority of the budget went. 'Skyline 2' is 'in development' (!?). Get the alien invaders back. Quick!
Worse Alien film everBy telburt (32 reviews) from london , 18 Mar 2013Skyline is one of the worse alien films I have ever seen, nothing made any sense, an alien invasion without any warning? and slow response from the army? I don't think so. I couldn't find anything that I liked about this film.. just wanted it to end, and when it did I was left more disappointed and I am certain that you will be too. give it a miss!!
Just awfulBy Scoundy (5 reviews) , 17 Mar 2013Wanted to like, wanted it to get better. But I didn't, and it didn't. Don't bother. Get something else. There is absolutely nothing in this to recommend it I'm afraid. Your senses will be better stimulated by watching paint dry
If you're this bored go for a walkBy Spedro (46 reviews) , 11 Mar 2013Yet another film with irrelevant, dreary plot and dialogue. The concept of the aliens and their ships lacks thought and the setting is bland and constrictive.
