A science-fiction programme with a unique and malleable conceit, SLIDERS was among the most popular shows of its genre during the 1990s. Quinn Mallory (Jerry O'Connell) is a twentysomething genius who has invented a device that allows him to travel through dimensions. He invites his friend Wade (Sabrina Lloyd) and Professor Maximillian Arturo (John Rhys-Davies) to witness his first operation of the device, which goes horribly wrong. Now, along with former soul singer Rembrandt Brown (Cleavant Derricks), the group find themselves hurtling through alternate dimensions, solving problems and encountering difficulties on a series of parallel Earths.

Or you can rent each disc individually:
This is the Sliders season where things started to go wrong. Each episode has unanswered questions - the team take others with them and then nothing else is heard about that character. There are many plot holes and the struggles to keep the momentum going are very apparent. The storylines change somewhat - alternate world scenarios are no longer the norm and instead the writers have attempted to produce an ongoing adventure, but they fail miserably. I would suggest only watch this season if you are an avid fan (in which case you know what I am talking about), avoid if you're just browsing.
