Having watched every episode since Smallville began (loser, I know but it's my one pleasure, let it go!), I can highly recommend this latest series to any other die-hard fan. If you are new to the whole Smallville phenomenon then I suggest starting with the first two series as much of this one builds on previous plots. Also, if you used to watch the old Superman movies in your PJ's when you were a kid like me this is a treat as the whole Clark becoming Superman plot really starts to get going albeit a gradual and often subtle process (look for him wearing glasses, a glimpse of red cape and the introduction of a few characters who will feature in Metropolis!) This series is visually stunning, has yet another tormenting cliffhanger and contains one of the last appearances of the late Christopher Reeve. With some fantastic bonus features it will please any true fan.
P.S. Look out for the sexy gardener from Desperate Housewives.
Being someone that has become so far behind in Smallville that a Sloth could have watched more episodes, I can only comment on the 1st 3 Seasons and I think that Season 3 has been the best Season so far that I have watched. It had it's sloppy moments in the Series with storylines but for me those that were sloppy can easily be ignored. I thought it was a fantastic build up to the series finale and I and looking forward to watching Season 4. But why did Pete have to leave? Though I thought his exit was brilliant.
