R&B singer-turned-actress Alicia Keys is expanding her film credentials after landing a production deal with Disney. Keys, who has starred in movies Smokin' Aces and The Nanny Diaries, has teamed up with her manager Jeff Robinson to develop new live action and animation projects for the kids' entertainment giant. • 14 Mar 2010

Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman will switch bodies in a new buddy comedy movie. The pair has signed to play a family man and his lazy pal who are forced to swap roles in The Change-Up - which has been written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, the scribes behind 2009 hit The Hangover. A director has yet to be recruited, but Reynolds and Bateman, who starred together in 2006 movie Smokin' Aces, are expected to start work on the new film in September (10), reports Daily Variety. This Sporting Life: What Happens When Sports Heroes Act Up? Eric Cantona and Ken Loach. These are not names you would immediately put together. What's more, Ken Loach is a dedicated supporter of Bath FC. I'm guessing there... Read more

Like Abrams, I wouldn’t call myself a Trekkie (let alone a “Trekker”). I liked the original show, found the subsequent movies hit-and-miss, and skipped most of the Next Generation. Still, I’m pretty sure the Lost guru has come up with a formula that is going to click with... Read more

    Pride and Glory

    Pride and Glory

    • 03 Nov 2008

There’s more pride than glory in this throwback cop drama, a movie so firmly in the tradition of heavyweight thrillers like Serpico, Prince of the City and Q and A that you would think the script must have Sidney Lumet’s fingerprints all over it. In fact it’s written by Gavin O’Connor, who made Tumbleweeds and the hockey movie Miracle, and Joe Carnahan, who made Narc and Smokin’ Aces. O’Connor came up with the story with his twin brother Greg. They’re... Read more
