After the feel-good mythology of Field of Dreams, director Phil Alden Robinson changed tack completely and came up with this smart and snappy caper that is blessed with a sparkling script and an outstanding ensemble cast. Robert Redford, graciously sending himself up just a little, plays the former student radical who now makes a living heading a team that is paid to break into hi-tech buildings to show up lapses in security systems. However, his past returns to haunt him when he is blackmailed into stealing the ultimate codebreaker. Ignore the holes in plot logic and savour the relaxed and unselfish comic interplay from a cast that includes River Phoenix, Dan Aykroyd, Sidney Poitier, David Strathairn and Mary McDonnell.

A brilliant charming film, a classic

This film may be one of the best I have seen in many years, and I am writing this in 2004.

This is a charming film with just the right amount of humor, and unlike many modern films it doesnt patronise the audience in any way. The all-star cast put on a superb performance, the writing is sharp and witty, and the plot is full, intelligent and engrossing.

This film is delightful, with just the right mix of tension, humor, action and most of all it is pure fun. This timeless film is a jewel that you will want to watch again and again!

    Quality Story for Conspiracy Believers

Old but not forgotten, Robert Redford on form as the head of a bunch of alienated geeks and hackers who work to tell organisations they are open to all espionage and spying until they are placed under surveilance themselves.

Before the internet got going yet still a contemporary spy film. Feel good factor activated.
