When it comes to hip-hop B-movies, there's much worse than Snipes out there. But that doesn't really help Snipes much: the film is still an extended rap of hip-hop cliches.

Snipes is essentially a vehicle for Nelly, but his input is minimal - which is fortunate, because he only manages one facial expression throughout the picture, and the script doesn't call for him to do anything different to what he might do in a music video. So it's over to main character Eric, played by Sam Jones III, and he's the saving grace of Snipes. In fact, Jones carries the film on his shoulders, with Dean Winters and JD Williams rehashing their characters from Oz.

Snipes is low on humour, inspiration and energy, and it shows in the performances. Teenage boys will probably love it.

TRIVIA: Snipes has also been released under the name Prolifik (the name of Nelly's character).
