Beating a rural retreat from the city is many a suburbanite's dream. This comedy shows that dream turning sour, when Manhattan family man Dean Jones, inherits a ski-resort hotel in the Rockies and tries to make a go of it with wife, Nancy Olson. Being a Disney confection that aims to please, the bad does succumb to the beautiful, with lots of ski sequences and a snowmobile race, and the tales of financial hardship tend to get buried under a pile of slush. An amiable slide, though.
